GambleAware is independent charity commission and treatment service across England, Scotland and Wales. They keep people safe from gambling harms.

The organization has released new statistics that show noteworthy progress in its effort of mitigating gambling harm among high-risk and vulnerable groups.

The organization’s latest campaign reached 74% of the high-risk young men it targeted and made an impact, with 60% of them vowing to contact the National Gambling Treatment Service if they experience any form of gambling harm. The results are described as “heartening” by GambleAware CEO.

Fight The Problem Gambling

As we know, gambling is a heartbreaking issue and people need help. GambleAware has been fighting the addiction. This addiction destroys lives, families, communities, and people by itself.

“The National Gambling Treatment Service brings together a network of organizations across Great Britain that provides free confidential treatment and support for anyone experiencing gambling harms,” Zoë Osmond, GambleAware CEO, stated.

Looking To The Engagement Statistics

Their efforts have been successful because they are focused on helping people with gambling addictions and problems. They are working hard to raise awareness for this issue, but for sure, the engagement of GambleAware has grown over the years.

They had an initiative that aims at engaging young men who are considered high-risk gamblers. It is called - Reaching Every Teen (RET).

People have to agree to call National Gambling Treatment Service when noticed any signs of irresponsible betting and gambling harm. And that means the effort is slowly paying off. In 2020 it was 47% of people, in 2021 it is 60% of people. The number of people has increased year-to-year by 13%.

National Gambling Helpline (NGH) has increased the number of calls received. From 2019 till 2021, 41% more people called the NGH to seek help with their addiction.

Gambling is normalized for many people because gambling is advertised on television or online.

GambleAware aims to make sure that this doesn't happen by promoting awareness of gambling addiction risks among players who are beginning to develop an addiction.
